The Clean Energy Leadership Institute’s Cohort Transfer Policy
The purpose of the policy is to support the Fellows whose career and family decisions aren't totally under their control; and, to ensure the integrity of the cohort, which was curated by the selections teams.
If a selected applicant lets CELI staff know about a potential or actual move before the fellowship starts, CELI will do its best to accommodate the applicant's enrollment in a cohort closest to the applicant's new residence. CELI reserves the right to deny the request for a transfer to a new cohort. If the situation is not resolved according to the applicant's satisfaction, the applicant may withdraw prior to the Fellowship, and CELI will reimburse the Fellow all monies paid (except application fees and a deposit).
If a current Fellow lets CELI staff know about a potential or actual move after the fellowship starts, the situation will be evaluated to determine whether or not CELI will ask the Fellow to adhere to participation in the original cohort or if CELI will accommodate a transfer to a new cohort. The general rule of thumb is: if the Fellow moves in the first month of the Fellowship, the move to a new cohort will likely be endorsed, as the fellow will have enough time to get to know a new community. If the move is planned at a later point, CELI is likely to recommend that the Fellow stays in their original cohorts. CELI reserves the right to deny the request for transfer to a new cohort. If the situation is not resolved according to the Fellow's satisfaction, the Fellow may withdraw prior to the end of the Fellowship, however CELI will not reimburse the Fellow for any monies paid. If CELI asks the Fellow to adhere to participation in the original cohort, upon graduation from Fellowship, CELI will add the Fellow to all Slack channels and other community building activities of the desired cohort.
Deferral of Fellowship acceptance to the following year is not possible. If a Fellow must prematurely withdraw from the fellowship, our refund policy will apply.
